Lisa Carrington and the journey of the dress

Tanya has designed for and dressed Lisa Carrington for over 10 years.

Bringing Lisa's vision to life began with conversations back in August 2021, while she was in MIQ having just returned from the Tokyo Olympics. 

After drawing Lisa's inspired ideas, they were then realized in calico form (toile) where we experimented with draping various shapes. This process resulted in a full skirt that is cut on the bias over a strapless, backless, mini dress with a softly sculpted shoulder detail.

 The outfit was made in pearl duchess silk satin with a corseted, boned bodice, and hand made buttons. 

The skilful construction of the dress was undertaken by our Ponsonby workroom team.  

As always it was a joy to work with Lisa, who is vibrant, focused and a ray of sunshine.
